It turns out there is a new nifty trick for the Nokia N810 as well as the N800. It comes from Kate Alhola who is Nokia's chief Maemo engineer in a blog entry. The N810 supports USB-OTG which lets you make the N810 into a usb host which lets you use other USB peripherals.

For example, you can hook up your USB thumb drive as well as other devices such as digital cameras, memory card readers, and external hard disks. It's a bit of a challenge to get it working, but it is incredibly useful for people able to pull it off.

Laptop Magainze named the Nokia N810 the best product of CTIA 2007. This is a great award for Nokia who really deserves to be awarded for creating such an amazing device. It literally does everything in such a small and stylish package.

Phone Calls 01/04/2008

The Nokia N810 isn't a cell phone, but it sure feels like it sometimes. With Skype and Gizmo, I can make phone calls to anyone in the world as long as I have an internet connection. This means I can make some incredibly cheap phone calls to anyone in the entire world.

For some people, the Nokia N810 could easily replace your main cell phone. Some areas are now blanketed in Wifi signal which means you always have a connection.

Skype also offers you a number for a small fee which makes it really feel like a cell phone. Keep this in mind when you're thinking about buying a Nokia N810.

Build-in GPS 01/04/2008

Now this feature caught me totally by surprise. I have a separate GPS system, and it's much bigger than my Nokia N810. However, when I found out the Nokia N810 could be my GPS device, I was stunned.

This little thing has a GPS receiver? That's simply incredible. This means many people will not need to buy a separate GPS receive. Once you're done driving, you can use it as a web browsing machine.

Simply incredible. The GPS is a feature that will just blow you away on the Nokia N810.

Companies need to realize that people want to be able to add memory to their device on a swappable basis. I sometimes have miniSD cards separated by type. One card I only have music on and the other I only have important files.

Nokia N810 does it correctly because they offer mini/micro SD expandability. I can add 4GB SD cards to my device and it works flawlessly and fast. This means I can store movies, tons of music, and much more.

That's flexibility!

I've had a lot of personal PC devices such as PDAs and other smart phones. The biggest gripe I had was the screen. Most devices didn't back enough resolution to make any type of web browsing slightly enjoyable. The pictures were blurry and small, and I could definitely couldn't fit entire webpages.

The Nokia N810 packs a 800x480 screen which is stunning to say the least. The screen is 4.12" diagonally which is plenty of space to really get a enjoyable browsing experience. The Nokia N810 definitely shines in the display area.

One thing I love about my Nokia N810 is that it is incredibly small. This means I can carry my Nokia N810 easily in my pocket and not feel it. This is a great change from the days where you could always tell who had a big cell phone or PDA when their pockets were bulging out.

The actual dimensions of the Nokia N810 rival the new Apple iPhone. Here they are for the technical folks:

Volume: 128 CC
Weight: 226 g
Length: 72 mm
Width: 128 mm
Thickness: 14 mm

So yeah, the Nokia N810 is amazingly small and powerful.
